Welcome....

The purpose of this blog is to chronicle my goal of turning $40,000 into $300,000.

If/When the goal is reached, I plan on solely playing cards as my means of income. Thus, retiring from my current career path.

It's going to be a rough ride. The ups & downs of full-time cash game poker are very taxing on the human mind.....

In the meantime I will also talk about poker, life, and other tid-bits.

Let me share with you my experiences.

Please feel free to leave comments and/or questions.

A Week In Review

BR: 6934

I like to start off with addressing comments from the previous post. Matt "AllinBlind" asks how does rake back work, etc. This is how rake back works. At the top of the operation is the poker site. They collect rake from every pot on their site. Now every poker site has affiliates. These affiliates are offered incentives on signing up new players and/or directing Internet traffic to the poker site's homepage. Every time a player signs up at the poker site the affiliate gets a % of the rake collected from that player for life. Now to increase the earnings of the affiliate, the affiliates offer new players rake back. Rake back is a percentage of the percentage that the affiliate receives from the poker site back to the new player for life.

For example, If an affiliate/rakeback site offers new players 30% rake back, the affiliate is probably getting 50% rake back from the poker site. They keep 20% and they give YOU 30% which totals up to the 50% total they are making from the poker site. In other words, they are splitting the % the site gives them with YOU! Usually a rake back site/affiliate will give you your rake back money at the beginning of every month. The affiliate I personally use, RAKEUPDATE.COM lets you cash out DAILY!!! Many , many withdrawal options also.

There are many rake back sites available to online poker players. They are not all the same however. Always look for the best % offered from these sites. Not every rake back sites offers the BEST % back. There is competition and you should shop around before opening a new poker account.

Every affiliate/rake back site will need 2 pieces of info from a new player. The 1) screen name you signed up with at the poker site, 2) the email address you used to sign up at the poker site. They all have automated systems that track your rake back with this information. You must be opening a NEW poker account to sign up for rake back on it. This means if you already have an account that DOES NOT receive rake back at a poker site you play at, you cannot make that account a rake back account. You have to make a new account.

What does WarCrimes get from promoting the rake back site/affiliate? I get a small finders bonus from the site. That's my incentive.

In answer to your second question Matt, Yes you get the same % back on MTT and SNG fees. For example, you play a $20+2 MTT you'll get the % of the $2 juice/fee back. Same goes for SNG's.

Last week has been good I must say. I am now playing 2-4 NL and some 3-6 NL will be added shortly I hope. I picked up roughly $2000 this week. It was up and down most of the time. Next post I want to go over some strategy. I am thinking of a 10 part series divided into the 10 starting positions of a holdem game. Give me some feed back. Take care and good luck.

RAKE BACK OFFERS!!!!!!

Hey guys,

I have an affiliate that offers rake back at BODOG!!! Most rakeback sites DO NOT offer rake back at bodog! Take advantage of this!!! Rake back can SERIOUSLY add to your poker earnings bottom line. Every online pro takes advantage of rake back. Also you earn your good pal WarCrimes a bonus.

What is awesome about this affiliate is that you can cash out daily! Many options to cashout. Such as, Neteller(non-US obv), Epassporte, FullTilt Poker account transfer, Ultimatebet account transfer, AP account transfer, and many more!
Cashouts take less than 8 hrs to receive!! I wouldn't tell you about this unless I was totally satisfied with the site in question. RAKEUPDATE.COM I have used them for years. I never ever had a problem. 24 hr Support is top notch, emails are answered VERY quick less than 2 hrs.

Just click the following web address to sign up:
http://www.rakeupdate.com/signup/warcrimespoker

Here are the rake back %'s for each site:

Bodog 25% ****the first 5 players to sign up for BODOG get 27% back!!! just leave a comment...be one of the first 5****
FullTilt 27%
Absolute Poker 30%
UltimateBet 30%
Battlefield Poker 30%
Cake Poker 33%

Just follow the 3 step directions on my landing page.

Please note:
1) You must make a NEW account if you already have an account at a poker site you want/need rakeback at.

2) Most poker sites WILL NOT allow you to have 2 accounts under your name. The new account has to be under another person's name. For example, your wife?brother/sister?mom/dad? ect.

3) The landing page doesn't show the rake back %'s which is retarded in my opinion, but rest assured they are as I advertise above.

4) It says on the landing page that NO RAKEBACK IS OFFERED at BODOG. Please disreguard this. I 100% guarantee you will get rake back!!! I have the hookup, and YOU WILL TOO by only using my landing page!!!

5) Feel free to leave comments/questions about these offers. Especially if you need help and/or any explanation about the rake back.

LAG Conquers Mid-Level Cash Games

BR:4121

I'd like to say sorry for the 5 day delay in posting. I have been quite busy with work and poker.

Let me respond to the last comments I recieved first. Goodnightmoon says Bodog's 10-20 NL game is soft. I agree or I wouldn't have been playing it. If you look a few posts down you can see even with a $35,ooo downswing I still beat the game for over 3bb/100. Can you show me better?

To JJ, Yes I started at $40,000 and now have roughly $4,000. Isn't poker AWESOME sometimes??! lol

The first two nights I was playing a tight-agressive ( TAG ) game at 1-2 NL. VPIP% was roughly 19-21% PA was 7% (or 20/7). I did "ok." I mean nothing to write home about. I picked up roughly a buyin each night after about 3 1/2 hours sessions. I didn't want to go bust or have to drop even lower. 1-2 NL is bad enough right now.
Last night however I decided to play my loose-aggressive ( LAG ) game. That is to say I played VPIP% was 28% ( would have been higher but SO many player folded to me preflop ) and a PA 15% (or 28/15 ). I am by far a better loose player. I like when players have to react to me, and what I am doing. I have a good hand reading ability. Many 10-20 NL and 5-10 NL players can back me up with the many great calls I have made on the river to pick off bluffs and marginal hands.

I like the fact that my big hands get paid off alot more often. The game is just more "fun" in general. But keep in mind with this fun comes the added variance. Swings will be large both ways to be certain. Last night I picked up 4 buyins in 3 hours. I owned each table I played on. Players couldn't adjust to my loose play. I was getting bluffed at with air when I flopped 2 pr one time! lol
I'm not a LAG donkey though. I change up gears easily. I am pretty good at it too. I mean I don't let the table catch on that I now am in fact playing much tighter ( and vice versa ).

Last night gave me the feeling of domination I have been missing for so long. A couple of hot sessions, and I will be ready to move up to 2-4 NL.

Starting Over

BR: 2,562

Well I didn't get to play over the weekend. My cousin got married on Sunday, November 4. I took Monday the 5th off as well. I needed to recoup. Friday the 2nd was the rehearsal dinner etc. because I was in the wedding party. So basically I had to endure poker withdrawal this weekend.

I did get to play last night though on bodog. ( Yes, I still love bodog ). I played some 1-2 and 2-4 NL picked up $621.00 in roughly 2 hours. I called it quits cause I was still feeling under the weather from a cold I had last week.

As you may/may not know, the DOGWATCH hand grabber for bodog is no longer working with the new updated software. The owner says he is working on a new upgrade. Kinda ironic since I just figured out how to use my PT stats and a hand history converter to post some hands on here. Ah well, I have to wait till it gets updated.

One hand I remember from 2-4 NL was I had AA in the UTG+2 position and I open limped the pot. Second player to my left put in a raise for $16 to go. The cutoff cold called that raise. When it came back to me I put in a 3 bet for $60.

The original raiser folds, and the CO pushes allin! WEEEEEEEEEEEE! He shows K-7os LMAO...and I take his $178 gift with a smile.

Another was UTG+1 I was dealt QQ and open raised to $18. Third to my left calls, the rest fold. We take the flop heads up. 10-8-2 with two clubs. Not too shabby. I C-bet $25, and he min re raises me. I call. turn brings a non club 8 and I Check-raise his turn bet allin. He calls off on K-10os for K101088 vs my 1088QQ....WEEEEEEEEEEE he has 5 outs with one card coming. BOOOM! 10 rivers and I lose a $440 pot.

Those are two hands I remember from that 2 hrs. I'll be on tonight after 9 pm on Bodog putting in a long session.

In regard to Bluesky88's comment: I really don't think a 20 max buyin swing is common-place nor should be expected. I DO however totally agree with the 10 max buyin swing you mention. I also respect the fact that you understand I am not candy coating any of this. Poker isn't all flowers and rainbows. I tell it how it is, no curve balls. As far as putting my name in the poll, I did so because I wanted to see how I did vs the names I put up along side me. There are many talented players I didn't put up there as the poll only let's me choose 5. Sorry to any I may have offended.

Starting Fresh

BR: 1941

Well, it's been a week. I am ready to start over anew. I am clear-headed and goal oriented. I am starting from the .5-1 NL level for 2 reasons. One, I feel I need to be punished, so to speak, for letting bad beats and morons affect my play. So starting out like a broke basterd will be my medicine. Two, if I start off at 5-10 NL or 10-20 NL with my remaining ~$50,000 I may indeed go broke. I am not willing to let that happen. So I will roll up a steak again.

The poll is done also! I got 2nd place. I really didn't exspect to get so many votes. Hopefully all who voted, did so honestly. My top 3 would have been Pepsi (hu champ), Urnotgood ( solid profitable 9 ring player), and WillisNYC ( all around solid player that he is).

Also I want to take this time to respond to some comments I recieved on my last few posts.

1) Slothrop can you please point out "how" I am a bad player exactly? Also congrats on your "luckfest" of $72,000 won on 12,000 hands played....that's normal.

2) Someone commented on my PT stats for 10-20 level I posted. He sneers at 3bb/100? LOL post your PT stats for any game higher than 5-10 NL with ~50,000 hands played with a xbb>3bb. Althought 3bb/100 isnt crushing a game, it is certainly a VERY profitable winrate. Also my bb/100 at the 10-20 level included my BS run of setups and suckouts. Before Oct 07 started I was beating 10-20 NL for ~6.5bb/100.

3) This is addressed to "Linecrusher" at bodog. You used to seek me out? If you read any of my earlier postings, I state short handed games are when I am at my weakest. I just enjoy trying to better myself at short handed play from time to time. I never play short handed thinking I'll have an edge unless I am up vs a true donkey. I am at work right now, but I will have to check my PT stats. I think overall I am on the + side of our time together at the tables. Meaning I have profitted from you and not vice versa. It's always nice to find a wolf in sheeps clothing.

As far as retracting my last post.....LMAO! I DO feel like I was not given a fair share of cards over the last month. Was it bodog's fault? No. Was it my fault? Maybe if you count picking the 2nd best seat 20 nights in a row. Where the hands I played setups? 100%. Where they picking on me? No. Setups....coolers...badbeats all mean the same thing. By using the word setup....I wasn't implying foul play on bodog's part. I also cashed out every single month for 14 monthes straight on bodog. I never once " got a bad beat cash-out curse. " I was mearly stating the coincidence that this all happened after I made my biggest single cashout from bodog 2 days prior to purchasing my new car.

Anyhow your a short handed player I respected, and always asked you to leave my short handed games if I was playing. Now I know why you didnt. Your cutout to be a lawyer, no morals, no soul, and money first. Have fun chasing ambulances and fucking decent people over in court. I'm sure you' ll be successful. The morally depraved usually are in this life. Gl to you sir.

I' ll comtinue to post. Although it will be more of a "Road to Recovery" than retirment for a bit. See you at the tables! I'll be slummin' in the $50 --> $200 NL games.
