Well I didn't get to play over the weekend. My cousin got married on Sunday, November 4. I took Monday the 5th off as well. I needed to recoup. Friday the 2nd was the rehearsal dinner etc. because I was in the wedding party. So basically I had to endure poker withdrawal this weekend.
I did get to play last night though on bodog. ( Yes, I still love bodog ). I played some 1-2 and 2-4 NL picked up $621.00 in roughly 2 hours. I called it quits cause I was still feeling under the weather from a cold I had last week.
As you may/may not know, the DOGWATCH hand grabber for bodog is no longer working with the new updated software. The owner says he is working on a new upgrade. Kinda ironic since I just figured out how to use my PT stats and a hand history converter to post some hands on here. Ah well, I have to wait till it gets updated.
One hand I remember from 2-4 NL was I had AA in the UTG+2 position and I open limped the pot. Second player to my left put in a raise for $16 to go. The cutoff cold called that raise. When it came back to me I put in a 3 bet for $60.
The original raiser folds, and the CO pushes allin! WEEEEEEEEEEEE! He shows K-7os LMAO...and I take his $178 gift with a smile.
Another was UTG+1 I was dealt QQ and open raised to $18. Third to my left calls, the rest fold. We take the flop heads up. 10-8-2 with two clubs. Not too shabby. I C-bet $25, and he min re raises me. I call. turn brings a non club 8 and I Check-raise his turn bet allin. He calls off on K-10os for K101088 vs my 1088QQ....WEEEEEEEEEEE he has 5 outs with one card coming. BOOOM! 10 rivers and I lose a $440 pot.
Those are two hands I remember from that 2 hrs. I'll be on tonight after 9 pm on Bodog putting in a long session.
In regard to Bluesky88's comment: I really don't think a 20 max buyin swing is common-place nor should be expected. I DO however totally agree with the 10 max buyin swing you mention. I also respect the fact that you understand I am not candy coating any of this. Poker isn't all flowers and rainbows. I tell it how it is, no curve balls. As far as putting my name in the poll, I did so because I wanted to see how I did vs the names I put up along side me. There are many talented players I didn't put up there as the poll only let's me choose 5. Sorry to any I may have offended.
Welcome....
The purpose of this blog is to chronicle my goal of turning $40,000 into $300,000.
If/When the goal is reached, I plan on solely playing cards as my means of income. Thus, retiring from my current career path.
It's going to be a rough ride. The ups & downs of full-time cash game poker are very taxing on the human mind.....
In the meantime I will also talk about poker, life, and other tid-bits.
Let me share with you my experiences.
Please feel free to leave comments and/or questions.

Maybe I'm confused, I haven't read all your posts closely...but how much did you start with? 40K? And your roll is down to 2600ish now?
